Web Site Design

Step one in designing a web site is to decide what you want the web site to do. Since it is your way of presenting yourself on-line, it is important that it achieves your goals.

Are you looking to let people know what you do, are you trying to sell something, are you displaying your wares? Meeting your goal is the foremost consideration with the web site design.

Step two is to decide on a layout, starting with the items that are you going to include on your web site. Your name or logo, some text, a color scheme, maybe even some pictures? Where do you want everything to go?

Then, you need to determine the quantity of pages and the content for each.

To help create a good web design, we use MacroMedia's Dreamweaver web site layout tool. It allows us to create web sites that can be modified easily which is good for creation and for maintenance.

For graphics design, we use Jasc's Paint Shop Pro tool. It allows us to modify graphics, and pictures. We also use it for creating thumbnails and optimizing graphics for fastest download times.

When we work with you, the first thing we do is an interview where we ask questions about your goals, and what you would like the web site to look like. Then we create a draft web site for your review. We modify the site with your inputs until you are happy with the result.

To ensure a good working web site, we perform full quality checks on the web site before we release it. We ensure that each page has a correct title, test all the links and optimize the graphics and pictures. We also create "meta tags" which allow search engines to identify and catalog your web site. We can also submit your web site to the seach engines if you would like.
